GAVI donates 6 motorcycles to Kagadi

GAVI the Vaccine Alliance has donated 6 Yamaha motorcycles to Kagadi district local government.

Kagadi district local government on Thursday  28 05 2020 handed over 6 Yamaha AG motorcycles to different Health facilities in a bid to improve maternal child health services to boost immunization outreaches in lower local government in the district.

The motorcycles received by the Health In-charges were donated by the Ministry of Health in partnership with UNICEF under the Global alliance for vaccine initiative (GAVI) project.

Among the Health centre beneficiated include Ndaiga HCII Isunga,Kiryanga, Bwikara, Muhorro-Kabuga,Ndaiga HCIII’s and the District Vaccine stores.

Speaking at the handover function held at Kagadi district headqauters on Thursday evening,the RDC Kagadi Lillian Ruteraho implored the beneficiaries to respect the traffic rules while using the motorcycles.

The LC5 chairperson Kagadi Steven Byaruhanga Mfashingabo cautioned the beneficiaries and civil servants at large against misusing the Government property in their custody.

He said some officials are using district vehicles and motorcycles to transact personal business.

 Mfashingabo has threatened to cause arrest of the errant government officials.

The handover ceremony was graced by the RDC Kagadi Lilian Ruteraho, LCV Chairperson Byaruhanga Stephen Mfashingabo, DCAO Fredrick Balemeezi, DHO Olowo James, Technical staff among others

The donation   under the ministry of health is meant to improve on health service delivery.

The motorcycles have been given to the health officers in charge at different health centers.

The health centres include, Isunga, Kabamba, Ndaiga, Kabuga, Bwikara, Muhorro /Kabuga and the district stores.

The Kagadi resident district commissioner, Lillian Ruteraho cautioned the beneficiaries against violating the traffic rules.
