Bayern Munich are slowly but steadily wrapping up this season’s Bundesliga title and will move 10 points temporary at the top the Bundesliga should they take care of Fortuna Dusseldorf on Saturday evening.

The Bavarians must be in good spirits after taking care of challengers Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday to move 7 points clear at the top.

It was not the classic Bayern performance as they had to win by a slim 1-0 scoreline but having done the job away to their closest rivals, they will not care anyways.

On Saturday, they take on a Dusseldorf side that is yet to lose a game since the Bundesliga returned a few weeks ago.

After drawing twice, the visitors came from a goal down to take care of struggling Schalke 04 and they will be fancying their chances of pulling off what will be a major upset this weekend.

Bayern are likely to field the same lineup from their victory at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday. Midfielders Corentin Tolisso and Thiago remain on the sidelines, and it is still too soon for Niklas Sule to return to action. Philippe Coutinho – who Bayern have supposedly decided against signing permanently from Barcelona – is also out with an ankle problem.

With regards to Dusseldorf, Rosler has no fresh injury concerns before their trip to the Allianz Arena. Goalkeeper Zack Steffen remains on the treatment table for Dusseldorf, who could welcome Bernard Tekpetey back to the squad following a minor injury. Karaman and Hennings, who were both on target against Schalke, are expected to lead the line for Rosler’s side once again.

Bayern are unbeaten in 11 Bundesliga matches against Fortuna Dusseldorf (W9 D2). The Bundesliga champions have scored at least three goals in each of their last six meetings with the Rhineland club – 24 in total. Fortuna Dusseldorf’s last win away at Bayern Munich came way back in April 1991, Thomas Allofs scoring the only goal of the game. The Flingeraner have suffered more defeats (29) and conceded more goals (117) against Bayern than against any other Bundesliga club. In fact, Fortuna Dusseldorf have, in fact, failed to score in 22 of their 49 Bundesliga meetings with Bayern Munich. Thomas Muller has had a direct hand in 10 goals in his last five Bundesliga games against Fortuna Dusseldorf (five goals, five assists). Fortuna Dusseldorf are the only Bundesliga club playing the current season against whom Robert Lewandowski has not managed to score even once.
