8 civil servants resign to join politics

Kagadi-Eight civil servants in Kagadi district have resigned from their positions to effectively start campaigns for the 2020/2021 elections.

Most of those who resigned are targeting to become councilors and Lcv Chairpersons, among others.

Kagadi District communications officer, George Gulyetonda said the education department has been affected most.

Some of the resigned civil servants are, Sewanyana John Bosco, the Principal Town Clerk Mabaale Town Council who is eying the Kibaale district LCV Seat, Nyakato Jane Rose (deputy head teacher) and Night Gertrude (Education assistant).

Bambaze Nkuliye Emmanuel (education assistant), Kyakuha Martha (Education assistant), Mukonyezi John (Head teacher), Mwesige Moses (education assistant), and Mubangizi Matthias (Head teacher), applied for early retirement.

Gulyetonda said the Political Parties Organization Act 2005 requires any members who intend to contest to submit in his/her resignation letter before nomination to any political position to be eligible to contest.
