LC5 chairperson Kibaale clarifies on sold district items

The LC5 chairperson Kibaale Peter Amara Salongo has refuted claims peddled by the district speaker Kibaale Disan Tumusiime and some councilors that some of the district property were either stolen or illegally sold.

 Recently, Disan Tumusiime told journalists that council papers and a generator were among the assets that went missing from the district stores.

He claimed that the items could have been sold by the chief administrative officer in collaboration with the LC5 chairperson.

Tumusiime also asked the district finance committee to make a report to council and also reported the matter to Kibaale police for investigation.

Speaking to our reporter on Monday 23 12 2019, the district chairperson Kibaale Amara Peter Salongo revealed that the allegations are intended to tarnish the image of the district leaders.

He says no item was stolen and the sold council papers were wastes asserting that they were sorted and sold for recycling.

Amara has however asked the district speaker, Disan Tumusiime to stop causing a lot of controversy in the district over false allegations.

Amara has called for calm among Kibaale residents saying Kibaale is not on fire, everything will be sorted.
