Kyesimira Loses First Match as BUL FC Head Coach

Referees lead hosts BUL FC and Vipers to the pitch.

BULFC’s hopes of finishing fifth on the Uganda premier league table, have continued to dwindle after losing 3-2 to Vipers SC at the Njeru based FUFA technical center.

Vipers struggled to bag their win in the second half after BUL that had conceded early goals in the first 20 minutes of the match equalized in the 27th, and 40th, minute respectively.

Vipers earned a hat trick from Tito Okello whereas BUL’s goals were scored by Fredson Gwoto and Robert Mukhongothya.  BUL was playing her first match under the command of their new head coach, Arthur Kyesimira.

Kyesimira signed a two-year contract of shepherding BUL as their head coach after the dismissal of  his predecessor, Peter Onen whom the team directors faulted  for poor performance and failure to win a match in the second round of this season.

BUL’s second round performance continues to upset fans since they have lost four matches and only earned one draw. Kyesimira however, says that the team is working on its’ tactical skills so as to control conceding of early goals.

“I am new on this team and still studying players to ensure that they all improve on defending tactics so that, together we can control early goals and reduce pressure on the strikers in the course of the match,” he says.

Vipers’ head coach, Fred Kajjoba said Sunday’s win was signaling a warning message to his opponents, KCCA FC ahead of their faceoff on 18th, February.

“This win was important to me ahead of my match with KCCA, this was a better signal of notifying them on what to expect from us,” he says.
