Bisaka given ultimatum of three days to return destroyed artifacts

Bunyoro Kingdom subjects and Kakumiro Town council residents have given the founder of Faith of Unity religious sect Owobusobozi Bisaka an ultimatum of three days to return the artifacts destroyed and stolen during the attack on the Semwema cultural site by Bisaka followers.

The concerned kingdom subjects lead by administrator of cultural sites locally known as Mugema Ronald Isagara Araali, today petitioned the Kakumiro Resident District Commissioner, Apollo Mugume seeking for government’s intervention.

In the petitioned document signed by Isagara, Banyoro are demanding that the government comes out to explain why UPDF soldiers attached to Bisaka protection unit got involved in the attack against a cultural site.

The concerned residents have also demanded that all materials more especially artifacts preserved by the kingdom be returned by Bisaka who received them from his followers immediately after the attack at the site which is located about three kilometers from Kakumiro Town off the Kakumiro-Hoima road.

In response, Mugume said the district security committee is planning to meet Owobusobozi Bisaka to seek for his explanation on why his followers attacked the cultural site.

He added that ‘there is need to keep peace adding that the government is following up this matter.
