Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital has since expanded the ward for COVID-19 patients after admitting 75 new cases within two days.

The surge in the number of patients prompted the management of Entebbe Referral Hospital to expand the ward for confirmed patients.

By Tuesday afternoon, there were 120 confirmed patients and 20 suspects at the hospital.

Sr. Roslyn Walimbwa, the Principal Nursing Officer and Head of the COVID-19 Welfare unit at Entebbe hospital, told URN that management has so recalled 30 staff to resume work.

She said most of those recalled are from the Outpatients, child and maternal care departments that were closed in late March to allow the hospital to focus on Covid-19 management.
