Kibaale Woman on the Run After Hacking Husband to Death

A woman in Kibaale district is at large for allegedly hacking her husband to death. The suspect is Yusta Kasapuli,27, a resident of Kyogera village in Kitutu parish in Karama sub-county. She is wanted for hacking to death her husband, Paul Kingi 27, a resident of the same village.

It is alleged that the couple picked up a quarrel around 11 pm on Tuesday night for an unknown reason. Kasapuli allegedly picked up a machete and hacked Kingi severally on the head and neck killing him instantly and fled the scene.

Isaiah Bigirwenkya, the area LC 1 Chairperson says that residents rushed to the area when they heard an alarm raised by Kingi. However, to their shock, they found him lying in a pool of blood inside their marital home and immediately notified the police. 

Sanyu Mugenyi, a brother to the deceased, says that they are yet to ascertain the source of the quarrel between the couple since they have been living peacefully. He wants the police to expedite investigations for justice to prevail.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson has confirmed the incident, saying that the hunt is on for the suspect. According to Hakiza, police recovered a blood-stained machete that is believed to have been used in the brutal murder of the deceased. The deceased’s body is lying at Kibaale Health Center IV pending postmortem.
