Kigambo Moses Araali Laid to Rest in Kyenjojo

The people of Nyantungo Town Council in Kyenjojo District gathered last evening (8th January 2025) to bid a final farewell to renowned musician Kigambo Moses Araali, who passed away on Saturday last week in Fort Portal City.

Kigambo Araali, known as the “Entale Ya Tooro” (The Lion of Tooro), was celebrated for his soulful and educative music that showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Tooro region.

His songs addressed pivotal issues such as family values, cultural pride,Land and community development, earning him numerous accolades, including the Pearl of Africa Music Award for Best Cultural Artist of the Year in 2007 .

Minister of Tourism Tom Butime praised Kigambo Araali for his contributions to Uganda’s cultural landscape, describing him as a singer who sang songs that describe what Tooro region is today.

Butime promised to declare Kigambo Araali a national hero in Uganda, a testament to his enduring impact on the country’s music and cultural scene.

As Kigambo Araali is laid to rest, his legacy continues to inspire generations of musicians, artists, and cultural enthusiasts.
