The Health Inspector at Kagadi Town Council,Kagadi district Peter Situma, has issued a public warning urging consumers to check the expiry dates on all purchased items to avoid the risk of food poisoning.

Situma, who also serves as the District Allied Health Supervisor, made these remarks yesterday morning 14th January 2025 while speaking to a reporter at Kagadi Town Council offices in Kagadi District.

Situma expressed concern over the increasing sale of expired goods, particularly drinks and other essential items, by some local business owners and shopkeepers.

He stressed that these expired products pose significant health risks, potentially leading to non-communicable diseases such as cancer and other serious conditions.

In response to the rising problem, Situma revealed that the Kagadi Town Council’s health department is collaborating with security officials to conduct operations targeting businesses selling expired goods.
