More than 300 elderly residents aged 80 and above from Kagadi Town Council received their quarterly payments under the Social Assistance Grant for Empowerment (SAGE) program yesterday.
The disbursement took place at Kagadi Community Hall, where each beneficiary was given 75,000 shillings, covering their monthly entitlement of 25,000 shillings for October, November, and December.
Amos Besisira, the town ward agent of Kiraba,Kagadi town council, Kagadi district represented the Kagadi District Community Development Officer (DCDO), Ponsiano Ngondwe, at the event.
He urged the recipients to utilize the funds wisely to enhance their well-being.
“This money is meant to support your basic needs.
Please use it for essential purposes to improve your quality of life,” Besisira advised.
The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude to the government, led by President Yoweri Museveni, for the financial support, noting that the grant has significantly improved their livelihoods.
