A 25-year-old man was rushed to Kisiita Health Centre III after being severely hacked in Kisiita Town Council, Kakumiro District, due to allegations of having an affair with another man’s wife.
The victim, Felix Byamukama, hails from Malongo Village in Kakindo Sub County but currently resides in Kiryatete, Kisiita Town Council.
The incident occurred last evening around 6 PM when the suspect, Stephen Kyeyune, alias Mujasi, found Byamukama sitting with his wife in his bar in Kyabalitwa Trading Center.
Byamukama said, he was demanding money from Kyeyune and had gone to his home to collect it and when he found him there, he instead accused him of having an affair with Kyeyune’s wife, which triggered a violent confrontation.
John Baptist Biryomumisho, the LCI Chairperson of Kyabalitwa, says upon learning of the incident, he immediately informed the police, who apprehended the suspect. He attributes this incident to excessive drinking and drug abuse.
“They were under the influence of alcohol, but police intervened in time” he said
Biryomumisho urges security personnel to conduct regular patrols to curb rising criminality in the areas, currently, Kyeyune the suspect is detained at Kisiita police, while Byamukama was taken to the hospital for treatment.
