St. Adolf Tibeyalirwa SS Dominates Kagadi USSSA Football Championships, Clinching Boys’ and Girls’ Titles

St. Adolf Tibeyalirwa SS has showcased their football supremacy by securing both the boys’ and girls’ titles in the Kagadi District Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Football Championships.

In the girls’ final, St. Adolf Tibeyalirwa SS delivered a commanding performance, defeating ORBMS SS 2-0.

Their exceptional skill and teamwork solidified their reputation as the top girls’ football team in the district, much to the delight of their fans and supporters.

The boys’ final was an intense showdown between St. Adolf SS and Kagadi SS.

 After a goalless draw in regular time, St. Adolf clinched victory with a dramatic 6-5 win in the penalty shootout, securing yet another championship for the school.

The games were played at Ruteete playgrounds in Ruteete town council Kagadi district on Tuesday 1st April 2025

With both teams emerging victorious, St. Adolf SS has firmly established itself as a powerhouse in Kagadi district school football.

Following the district competition, several teams have qualified for the regional championships scheduled for April 10, 2025, at the Hoima Oil City Boma Grounds.

The qualifying teams are:Boys: St. Adolf SS, Kagadi Secondary School, and St. Albert ASD SS and Girls include  St. Adolf SS, ORBMS SS, and Kagadi Secondary School.

Kagadi District Sports Officer Mugume John urged players to maintain discipline at the regional level to secure their future careers in football.

Kagadi District Football Association (DFA) Chairperson Kirungi Gerald Goodyear revealed that the district has initiated the Kagadi Secondary School Game Three tournament to nurture young talent and prevent the use of ineligible players (commonly referred to as ‘machinery’) in competitions.

Meanwhile, Kagadi District Secondary School Sports Department Chairperson B. Frank praised the high participation, with over 36 schools competing in the football championships.

 He also extended apologies for any shortcomings in the organization of the event, emphasizing the committee’s commitment to improving future competitions.

As the regional tournament approaches, teams will be looking to build on their performances and compete at a higher level.

The success of St. Adolf SS in this year’s championships sets a high standard for school football in Kagadi, inspiring other teams to rise to the challenge.
