Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja has called on Members of Parliament from the Bunyoro sub-region to prioritize service delivery and focus on socio-economic transformation for their constituents.
Nabbanja made the remarks on Sunday while presiding over the election of leaders of the Bunyoro Parliamentary Caucus held at the Office of the Prime Minister in Kampala.
She emphasized the need for unity and a shared vision among MPs to ensure government development programmes are effectively implemented across the region.
The Prime Minister congratulated the newly elected caucus leadership and urged them to take a leading role in mobilizing support for government initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods.
Minister of State for Local Government-designate Balaam Barugahara also addressed the MPs, stressing the need to streamline local government operations in order to improve service delivery at the grassroots.
The newly elected Bunyoro Parliamentary Caucus Chairperson, Dr. Emily Kugonza, who represents Buyanja East County in Kibaale District, pledged to work closely with all MPs from the region to promote socio-economic transformation.
Under the new leadership, the Bunyoro Parliamentary Caucus is chaired by Dr. Emily Kugonza and deputized by Buliisa District Woman MP Norah Bigirwa Nyendwoha. Kagadi Woman MP Hon. Margret Akiiki Naziwa serves as Treasurer, while Masindi Municipality MP Hon. Rogers Byamukama is the General Secretary.
Other members include Hoima City West MP Hon. Ismail Kasule Amooti in charge of publicity, Bugahya County MP Hon. Pius Wakabi as Whip, and Kikuube District Woman MP Hon. Flora Natumanya heading welfare matters.
