Residents of Ruteete West Cell in Ruteete Town Council, Kagadi District, are in shock following the death of a 30-year-old woman who died while visiting her boyfriend’s home.
The deceased was on Monday identified as Deudanta Turamisa, a resident of Mutunda Cell in Ruteete Town Council.
According to the Ruteete West Cell LC1 Chairperson, Milton Ndyareba, he was informed about the incident around midnight.
He said Turamisa had reportedly gone to spend the night at the home of her boyfriend, Didas Ndyamuhakyi, also aged 30, when she died under unclear circumstances.
Ndyareba described the incident as shocking and cautioned young people to exercise caution in relationships by knowing their partners well, including their health status, before making major commitments.
Following an agreement between the two families, the deceased’s body was handed over to relatives for burial.
Police have since launched investigations into the incident, with Ndyamuhakyi being held at Ruteete Police Station to assist with inquiries.
Police say he is a key suspect, although the exact cause of death has not yet been established.
