Man Allegedly Kills Ex-Lover and another Man in Suspected Double Murder

A suspected double murder has shocked residents of Kiheheba B Village, Kiheheba Parish, Kasimbi Sub-county in Kibaale District after a man allegedly hacked his former lover and another man to death over a suspected love affair.

The incident occurred in the wee hours of Wednesday when Julius Shema, 40, also known as Brown, allegedly found his former lover, Climitin Buliwariya, 46, in bed with Emmanuel Muhirwe, 40.

 The couple had reportedly been separated for some time.

According to preliminary reports, Shema attacked the two with a panga, killing Buliwariya instantly. Muhirwe sustained severe cuts to the head, back and left hand.

He was rushed to Kasimbi Health Centre III and later referred to Kakindo Health Centre IV.

However, he died at Kitemba Trading Centre in Kagadi District while being transferred for further treatment.

Speaking to our reporter, Beneta Twizeri, the wife of the deceased Muhirwe, said her husband was attacked by Julius Shema at around 3:00 a.m.

Body of late Climitin Buliwariya

The LC1 Chairperson of Kiheheba B Village, Emmanuel Ndayambaze, said residents alerted him that a man had been attacked.

He rushed to the scene and helped transport the injured victim to Kasimbi Health Centre III.

The Kasimbi Sub-county LC3 Chairperson, Omuhereza Ategeka Tibaingana, condemned the killings and called on both men and women to avoid engaging in love affairs that could fuel domestic conflicts and to resolve relationship disagreements peacefully.

Kibaale District Assistant CID Officer Arishaba Benjamin urged members of the public to avoid domestic violence and appealed to anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect to report to the nearest police station.

The bodies were taken for postmortem examination as investigations continued. The suspect remains at large.
