Court in Gulu has remanded a civilian who attacked a UPDF Soldier in Amuru district.
Joseph Olidio a resident of Bibia West Village, Atiak Sub –County in Amuru district attempted to cause the death of Alex Nuwanyini.
Court on Wednesday presided over by Christine Turibamwe, the Grade One Magistrate of Gulu heard that Olidio allegedly used a sharp object to pierce Nuwanyini’s left eye. Nuwanyini is the escort of Linda Agnes Auma, the Amuru Resident District Commissioner.
Turibamwe, the Grade One Magistrate of Gulu High Court remanded the accused until 5th May 2020 when he will reappear before court to take plea.
Turibamwe, however, did not allow the accused to take plea saying the nature of
his offense does not allow him to take plea before Grade One Magistrate.
