Shock engulfed residents of Kyomunembe B in Kagadi town council, Kagadi district when they discovered a body of a man dumped in River Mpamba that borders Kyenzige and Kagadi town councils.
The deceased has been identified as Kisembo Tumwesige aged 27, builder and a resident of Kyomunembe B, in Kagadi town council but residing in Kyenzige town council.
According to an eye witness Desire Birungi aged 20, a wife to the deceased, says they were attacked together last evening at around 8Pm by two un known men as they were heading to their home from Kiryani trading center.
Birungi said, two men came running behind them holding pangas and attacked the husband which caused her to call for rescue from nearby residents in vain.
Birungi says after reaching home she began contacting relatives and friends of the deceased informing them about the incident who to gathered with locals to search for him.
The Kyomunembe B, Lc1 chairperson Bosi bosi Erias narrates that the killing of Kisembo could have resulted from the land wrangles he had battled with the two brothers identified as one Ayebale and Kato of the same Area since March this year.
Bosi Bosi says the brothers to the deceased wanted the late to sell them but he refused and sold it to Nathern Bamwine, the Kagadi district internal Auditor at 1.2m.
The Kagadi district Police Commander ASP Steven Kamar says the assailants cut the deceased on the back and the neck which resulted to his lifeless.
He further confirmed the arrested of one suspect whose names were withheld to help them in the investigations.
