Residents of Kyakabadiima Sub County, Kagadi district have decried poor roads in the sub county leading to huge losses of their farm products and death of expectant mothers.
According to residents, the roads connecting Kyabasale in Kyenzige and Burora sub counties, Kamuyange and Kasagali Villages are impassable both during rainy and sunny seasons hence transporting their products to the markets has become very difficult.
The Lc3 chairperson, Posiano Barugahare noted that the roads have several pot holes hence many accidents occur as motorists try to evade the same.
He asks the district to take charge of the major roads.
Canon Hebert Twijukye of Sinapi church of Uganda Vowed to stage a protest if leaders do not respond immediately.
However, the district councilor for Kyakabadiima Sub County, Ramuel Betonda says, the district is trying hard to ensure most of the roads are rehabilitated.
Residents disclosed their concerns today during a meeting organized by the Kagadi district woman MP Janepher Kyomuhendo Mbabazi to monitor government programs.
The meetings were held at Hamuji, Kamuyange, Kyakabadiima and Kanyabebe trading centers in Kyakabadiima Sub County.
In response Janepher attributed the poor state of Roads in the district to limited funds.
However Janepher who doubles as the chairperson roads committee, promised to lobby support from government to ensure roads are maintained.
Mp Janepher also distributed hoes to widows, certificates to local leaders, source pans and dozens of plates to all villages.
The Project which she started in 2018 will be finalized tomorrow in Kagadi town council.
