Uganda confirms 32 new coronavirus cases, infections rise to 489

The number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Uganda has risen to 489 on Tuesday June 2 after 32 samples tested positive on Monday June 1.

All confirmed cases are Ugandans, 19 of the cases are truck driver from different border entries while 13 are contacts and alerts.

Health Minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng says all 106 samples of health workers tested negative for COVID-19.

The new cases come after seven health workers tested positive for the disease a few days ago. According to MOU, all the health workers are receiving treatment at the Entebbe Referral Hospital.
