Police in Kibaale district has in custody a 62-year-old man on allegations of aggravated sexual assault of a two -year-old minor.
The suspect is Vincent Ndayobooze a resident of Igayaza Town council in Kakumiro district.
It is alleged that Ndayobooze defiled the minor on Thursday as the child had been left at home by her parents who had gone for work.
The Kibaale district police commander Esther Tumusiime Adeke says the minor cried that attracted residents who found the man committing the heinous act.
DPC Adeke says investigations into the unfortunate incident are done pending court appearance to answer charges related to aggravated defilement.
She has however cautioned parents to take care of their children more especially girls to avoid such incidences.
