In a shocking incident, a 27-year-old man, Deo Segawa, has committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree behind his family’s house in Kyakamutanga cell, Kakindo town council Kakumiro district.
The tragic event occurred early Friday morning, leaving the community in mourning and disbelief.
According to the LC1 chairperson of Kyakamutanga cell, Janet Nambalirwa, Segawa had been struggling with mental health issues for the past two days.
In a desperate attempt to seek help, his family members had taken him to church for prayers, but he managed to escape and tragically ended his own life.
Police officers rushed to the scene and retrieved the body from the tree, transporting it to the mortuary for postmortem and burial arrangements.
The community is in shock, grappling with the loss of a young life.
