On 8th March 2026, Kagadi Kibaale Community Radio (KKCR) FM welcomed a delegation of long-standing partners from Farm Radio International, including board members from Canada, during a courtesy visit to the Uganda Rural Development and Training Programme (URDT) campus.
The delegation was warmly received upon arrival by URDT’s Founder, Dr. Mwalimu Musheshe, together with the KKCR FM management and staff. The visit reaffirmed the strong partnership between the organizations, which has been in place since 2013.

Led by the Country Program Manager, Stephen Ecaati, the visiting team toured the KKCR FM Production Studio. The modern studio was constructed with support from Farm Radio International in memory of the late Janet Atikins, one of the founding members of the organization.
The facility was established to strengthen community radio broadcasting and support local development initiatives. Through the studio, KKCR FM produces programs that promote livelihoods and social transformation, particularly within the Bunyoro sub-region.
Over the years, the station has used the platform to broadcast programs focusing on key development areas such as agriculture, health, environmental conservation, and education, helping communities access vital information that improves their daily lives.

Dr. Mwalimu Musheshe, the Founder of the Uganda Rural Development and Training Programme (URDT) and KKCR FM, welcomed the delegation and commended the long-standing partnership with Farm Radio International, noting that it has created significant impact in rural communities by transforming livelihoods and improving the lives of many people.
According to Mary Atkins Carly, who represents the founders of Farm Radio International, she acknowledged the work being done by URDT and KKCR FM in developing rural communities and providing farmers with practical information on agriculture, health, environmental conservation, and livelihoods.
“I appreciate all the work you and the team are doing for the community and farmers through your broadcasts and initiatives. It was an honour to see the studio dedicated in memory of my mother, Janet, and to receive your updated request,” she said.
She further emphasized the importance of community radio in amplifying rural voices and sharing knowledge that empowers farmers and communities to adopt better practices.

The partnership between KKCR FM and Farm Radio International continues to play a significant role in enhancing communication for development, ensuring that rural communities have access to reliable and practical information that supports sustainable development.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the delegation to interact with the station team, appreciate the impact of their collaboration, and explore ways of strengthening the partnership to further support community transformation through radio.
