The ministry of water and environment has announced inadequate safe drinking water supply in over 226 out of 829 Villages in Kagadi district.
The statement was released yesterday by Engineer Opwanga Peter the western region team leader technical support working with the ministry of water and environment during the district advocacy meeting that was held at Kagadi district headquarters.
The meeting was also attended by the Kagadi District Councilors, District engineering team and other stakeholders.
Eng Opwanga further said, the ministry is set to extend safe drinking water in some villages in the district and called for cooperation among beneficiaries.
He says they will focus on the construction of boreholes and shall wells.
The Kagadi district water team led by the District Engineer Bukenya Robert says a number of boreholes will be built and functionalize the damaged ones in different Sub-Counties of Kagadi district come 2020\2021 financial year.
Eng Bukenya further listed the leading Sub-Counties of Kagadi which lacks safe drinking water as Mpeefu,Ndaiga,Kiryanga,Kabamba, Pacwa and Rugashali among others which he said has been caused by their bad topography in those areas.
The Vice LCV chairperson for Kagadi district who doubles as the district Secretary for health and education John Alibankoha challenged the district engineering team to always inseminate such information to the public for intervention by stakeholders.
