Residents of Kagadi District have been left in shock following the discovery of two men killed under unclear circumstances in separate incidents. The incidents happened on Monday night. In Kagadi Town Council, a man identified as Emmanuel, a casual worker and resident of Kenga village, Kagadi Sub-county, was found dead in Kiryane Cell with visible injuries on his head and body.

Local leaders and residents suspect thieves may have attacked him during the night. Speaking to our reporter, LC1 Chairperson Kagadisa Charles said he was alerted by residents and immediately reported the matter to the police.  He described the deceased as humble despite his mental condition and condemned the act.

Community members also suspect thieves who reportedly raided the area the previous night could be responsible. Charles Kagadisa says three shops were broken into and items were stolen.

Anthony Tuhaise believes Emmanuel was attacked by suspected thieves who combed the area on Monday night.

Community members have called for improved night security. Police visited the scene and took the body for a postmortem as investigations continue. In a separate incident in Busungubwa Village, Galibokela Sub-county, a man in his 30s, identified as Bizimungu, also known as Bizzi, was found murdered and dumped at a trading center with severe injuries.

The LC1 Chairperson, Muhamudu Mumbere, said the deceased had reportedly borrowed money from a SACCO and may have been attacked after a disagreement at a local bar on his way home.

During a joint search, police and residents recovered blood-stained clothes linked to a suspect identified as Kabaya, who is currently on the run. Another suspect has been arrested to assist with the investigation. Mumbere urged residents to avoid walking at night and called on bar owners to regulate operating hours.

Police transported the body to Kagadi General Hospital mortuary as investigations continue.
