Residents of Muhorro town council and Muhorro Sub County have appealed to the Kagadi district woman MP Janepher Kyomuhendo Mbabazi to support Saccos in the district.
During her visits at Nyanseke town mosque, Butumba, Kyesamire, Kasoga and Kabuga trading centres in Muhorro town council and Muhorro Sub County respectively on Tuesday , the residents asked her to help boost their Saccos.
The speaker of Muhorro town council, Henry Businge said many groups at different levels are struggling due to limited funds.
“We have SACCOS at cell, ward and town council levels but they lack funds to meet our targets. We would like to import materials for handcraft from Kasese but funds are limited”, Businge told MP Janepher on Tuesday
Businge explained that boosting their village SACCOs will help them meet their daily needs and obligations especially paying school fees for their children in higher institutions.
Janepher in her response expressed determination at turning around the lives of the people of Muhorro through empowering them with knowledge on how to make more money.
“Am committed to fund organised Saccos when I get support from government and her friends”, Janepher Told residents at Nyanseke town mosque on Tuesday.
On the issues of education in higher institutions, Janepher urged residents to utilize her office to benefit on student loan scheme funded by government.
As usual, the district woman MP Janepher Kyomuhendo Mbabazi supplied sources pans, dozens of plates and certificates of appreciations to all villages, widows and local leaders respectively.
She received overwhelming backing from the electorate over her unique initiatives.
