Kikuube-Two suspected armed robbers have been killed by a mob at Kibaale B Lc 1, Butoole Lc 2, Kyangwali Sub County in Kikuube district.
It was gathered that the two other suspected robbers, that had attacked Omuhereza Karuuru escaped from the mob on Wednesday.
The Albertain police spokesperson, Julius Hakiza identified the deceased as Tumwesigye Stephen , aged 30 , resident of Katikara Lc 1, Kyangwali sub county in Kikuube district and Kasaija Haruna, aged 35 , resident of Kinyamahwa village, Kyangwali sub county in Kikuube district.
Hakiza says Omuhereza Karuuru, aged 48 , businessman, resident of Kibaale B Lc 1, Butoole Lc 2, Kyangwali sub county in the Kikuube district reported that 04 thugs armed with an Ak 47 riffle attacked him at his home and put him at gun point on Wednesday evening .
He said Karuuru tactfully dived and grabbed the armed thug with his gun tightly.
He shouted for help and passersby ran to his rescue and rounded up 02 of the thugs killing them instantly.
Hakiza revealed that an AK 47 Riffle number 565906964 –38896 with 11(eleven) rounds was recovered from the thugs.
He said the recovered gun was reported stolen from one police officer identified as OMara Jimmy once deployed at Kyangwali refugee camp and the case was investigated in 2017.
He added that the scene of attempted robbery was visited by police, the bodies were collected and taken to the mortuary for postmortem examination.
Hakiza told our reporter that Inquiries to bring the other two thugs (that escaped) to book are on.
