Shock and grief have engulfed residents of Bwikara Sub-County in Kagadi district after a 27year old man identified as Deus Byaruhanga died after taking magical herbal from the witch doctor.
It is allegedly that a man identified as Robert Katambi a resident of Nyanswa village, Mairirwe Sub County in Kagadi district went to a witch doctor to acquire magic of trapping the thieves who had stolen his goat.
This prompted the witch doctor whose names are withheld to gather nearby residents and performed his rituals by giving each resident to drink his magical medicine saying if the thief is within them he or she will fall ill.
After taking the witch doctor’s magical medicine one of the residents Deus Byaruhanga felt sick and was rushed to Muhorro health III for treatment.
According to the deceased’s father Mr. Sipirasio Tumwesigye, his son died on the way back to the witch doctor after efforts by Muhorro health III medics and pastors failed to bring back the life of the deceased.
However the chairperson Lc1 Nyanswa village Mr. Deo Biruhize, cautioned the community against taking un authorized drugs by experts.
By press time Bwikara police station had arrived at the scene to conduct postmortem and later handed over the body to relatives for burial arrangements as investigations into the matter started.
In the related development, residents of Buramula village in Kiryanga Sub county, Kagadi district were shocked to discover a body of a 16 year old boy hanging in his uncles’ Maize store of the same area.
