Unknown thugs have hacked to death Naleka Wagama, 38, a popular chapatti vendor in Gulu municipality.
His lifeless body was found lying behind Gulu Regional Referral Hospital construction site in Laroo Division on Tuesday morning.
Nshekampora Diogen, a mansion at the site where the body was found, says the body had multiple cuts an indication that the deceased could have been killed using machetes.
According to Diogen, Wagama was last seen alive on Monday evening.
Moses Abonga, the Laroo Division LC III chairperson told URN that blood stains were spotted at Finca Microfinance that is several meters away from where the deceased’s body was discovered.
The Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson, Patrick Jimmy Okema told URN that preliminary finding indicate that the deceased completed work around mid-night on Monday.
He says police canines traced blood drops to an area where the deceased seems to have struggled with his attackers in a corridor in Bus Park B Sub ward.
‘’We followed drops of blood up to the corridors in the Bus park B sub ward in the center of the town where we found blood and signs of a struggle. This was after introduction of the police canine and it got mixed up in Konypaco. ‘’
A case of murder is being investigated at Gulu Central Police Station under CRB 254/2020. The deceased’s body was still lying at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital pending postmortem by the time of filing this story. No arrest had been made.
