The Omukama of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Dr Solomon Gafubusa Iguru has rallied his subjects to guard themselves from contracting the Coronavirus (COVID -19) and strictly adhere to guidelines and measures issued by the Ministry of Health.
In a speech read for him by Andrew Byakutaga, the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom prime minister, the Omukama tasked the people of bunyoro sub region to strongly embrace the hand washing strategy being emphasized by the government saying it is crucial as far as guarding against the virus is concerned.
“This is a trying moment to all people in Bunyoro Kingdom, Uganda, Africa and the world at large. I call upon the people of Bunyoro to strictly respect the guidelines and measures issued by the government as we go through this trying moment,” said Omukama.
The Omukama further revealed that all the kingdom activities have been suspended until the situation normalizes.
Uganda has so far registered 18 cases of people infected with corona virus.
