A man in Hoima has cut off a woman’s hand over a land dispute.
Alice Tuhaise, a resident of Kaitira cell Kuhukya ward Busiisi division Hoima Municipality was allegedly attacked on Monday by Derrick Nseka her nephew.
According to Tuhaise, the disputed piece of land measuring about half an acre was offered to her by her late father. She was however surprised to see Nseka claiming ownership.
Nseka reportedly chopped off her left hand and severally cut her in the neck, back and the head before he fled.
Zahara Kobusinge, the victim’s daughter says that her mother quarrelled with Nseka while she was preparing food in the Kitchen over the piece of land. She later heard her mother screaming for help.
A health worker at Hoima Hospital says Tuhaise is out of danger after she underwent surgery.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says the matter is being investigated by police and authorities are tracing for Nseka who fled.
