The Kagadi District councilors last evening delayed the approval of the supplementary budget worth shs 165M that was received by Kagadi District in April this year from the ministry of health to be used for Corona Virus response team.
The councilors complained that they were not involved in the fight against coronavirus and Village health workers were not being paid for the work they do.
This during the district council session held at St. Ambrose institute of Health science main hall in Kagadi Town Council Kagadi District aimed at approving the budget estimate for the financial year 2020/2021 worth Shs 43Bn.
After a thorough explanation from the chief administrative officer, Mathias Ndifuna, councilors agreed to pass the supplementary budget.
Mathis Ndifuna, the Kagadi chief administrative officer, said according to the guidelines from the ministry of finance the District councilors are not considered to beneficiates from the funds.
He says the VHTs will get their token next month (June).
