Kibaale -The Tarmacking of Mubende –Kakumiro-Kibaale -Kagadi road has excited drivers who have thanked Government for the development.
The drivers in Kagadi have said the road has so far eased mobility and boosted development in Kakumiro, Kibaale and Kagadi districts.
On Sunday, the drivers under their Umbrella Kagadi taxi drivers and operators SACCO visited the minister of finance planning and economic development, Matia Kasaija at his Home in Karuguuza, Kibaale district to thank him for the efforts he made to have the road tarmacked.
Speaking on behalf of drivers, Matia Musoke Abiora said, the road works have not been seen for a long time in the area and that the development will see growth in many areas.
Musoke lauded the minister for his supervisory role, saying the road is a sign of development being brought closer to the people.
The drivers gave minister Kasaija a male Goat and butches of Bananas.
Minister Matia Kasaija welcomed the drivers at his home and asked them to desist from reckless driving in order to avoid accidents.
He pledged to contribute 2m shillings to the drivers SACCO.
The drivers raised concerns about tarmacking of Kagadi Taxi Park.
The function was also attended by the Chairperson Board Uganda Investment Authority Dr. Emily Kugonza who also pledged 1m shillings to boost the drivers SACCO.
