Lc3 chairpersons from town councils and sub-counties in Kagadi district presented a joint memorandum to Fred Byamukama the State Minister of Works and Transport, seeking support to address pressing challenges hindering social-economic transformation in the district.
The memorandum, presented by Canon Mwesigwa Peter Mutebire the Lc3 chairperson for Rugashali town council Yesterday, highlighted key demands including Access to road funds for new town councils and sub-counties to rehabilitate roads.
Additional road units, including a low-bed wheel loader, to facilitate road works and Trucks for garbage collection to promote hygiene and sanitation.
Others were Support for culvert installation and Tarmacking of streets in Kagadi, Muhorro, Mabaale, Pachwa, Kyenzige town councils, and other sections.
The District Chairperson Ndibwami B Yosia and the Kagadi District Woman Member of Parliament Janepher Kyomuhendo Mbabazi echoed the LC3 chairpersons’ requests, highlighting the district’s struggles due to insufficient road equipment.
Minister Byamukama responded positively, pledging to collaborate with district leaders to enhance service delivery.
He said Kagadi district will soon receive a second road equipment unit and culverts to fix roads.
He says Muhoro-Ndaiga road will be budgeted for in the next financial year as well as construction of 3 bridges in the district.
However, he emphasized the need for Lc3 chairpersons to unite against corruption to optimize government resources
