Museveni to address the country tomorrow at 8pm
President Museveni who announced the extension of the current lockdown for 14 more days from May 6, 2020 to May 19 will address the nation tomorrow at 8PM, State House has said.
Press Secretary, Lindah Nabusayi said the President will guide the nation on the next steps to be taken before the current extended lockdown ends on Tuesday May 19.
The President is expected to announce lifting more lockdown measures as the country works to stop the spread of coronavirus.
The President on Saturday, May 16, 2020 directed that only truck drivers with negative test results will be allowed to enter Uganda.
This was revealed by Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, the minister of Health.
According to Dr. Aceng, the Ministry of Health met representatives of the Truck Owners and National Logistics Platform and resolved to mobilize, counsel and test all truck drivers from Uganda.
Currently Uganda has 227 confirmed coronavirus cases after 24 truck drivers tested positive for the pandemic last evening.
