Omuhereza Katende who has lived with HIV for 33 has finally dead and his body laid to rest today in Nyakabale B, Nyamasa parish in Bwikara Sub County, Kagadi district.
Omuhereza Kemigisa Katende a wife to the late said when they realized that they were HIV positive his husband started a campaign of sensitizing the community against HIV in greater Kibaale.
Omuhereza Katende has been presenting HIV programs on KKCR for more than 10years sensitizing the community against HIV.
The vice chancellor for African Rural University Dr. Mwalimu Musheshe said they have been offering free airtime on KKCR to Omuhereza Katende to sensitize the community against HIV as one way of fulfilling KKCR’s mission for people to be health.
Speaking on the life of Omuhereza Katende the secretary for health and education Kagadi district Alibankoha John said Omuhereza Katende has been helping the health department of Kagadi district in sensitizing the community on HIV through radio programs.
Meanwhile, Birungi B Mark a staff of KKCR who has been a chief coordinator of all Samaritans who have been contributing support to Omuhereza Katende when he was still a live appreciated those who contributed for Katende to survive saying they did what they can to save Omuhereza Katende’s life but God decided to take him.
Omuhereza Katende was born on 01st 03 1957 and has died at the age of 67.
He survived with 3wives and 16children.
