The Buyaga west member of parliament Tinkasimire Banabas has today handed over the controversial 20m to Kagadi district Covid-19taskforce.
The 20m is part of 10b members of parliament shared each taking 20m to sensitize the community against coronavirus in respective constituencies which raised concern among Ugandans on how members of parliament agreed to receive the money yet the country is lacking funds to curb the spread of covid-19.
Following outcry from Ugandans President Museveni ordered all members of parliament to donate that money to their districts Covid-19 taskforces which Tinkasimire Banabas answered today.
While handing over the 20m to Kagadi district Covid-19 taskforce, Banabas asked them to use that money to serve the intended purpose.
Upon receiving 20m the Kagadi district Chief Administrative officer Mathias Ndifuna on behalf of the RDC thanked Tinkasimire for deciding to return the money to the district Covid-19 task force thus promising to use it to serve intended purpose.
The Buyaga west member of parliament Tinkasimire Banabas is the last Member of Parliament to handle over the controversial 20m to Kagadi district Covid-19 taskforce after women MP Kagadi and Buyaga east MP handed theirs recently.
