Kagadi-Unidentified people on Monday morning set ablaze Rugashali police station in Kagadi district.
The fire affected the grass thatched offices of the officer in charge-OC and Criminal Investigation Department of Rugashali police station.
Augustine Mateke, the officer in charge Rugashali police station says the incident happened at around 6.20am on Monday in Rugashali town council.
Mateke says most of the items were rescued by residents.
He says they are still investigating the cause of the fire outbreak and those behind it.
Peace Harunda Immaculate, whose hurt was affected, told our reporter that the fire sparked off after arresting a woman reported to be night dance who was found at Rugashali public primary school midnight.
She says no official document was destroyed, although some of her property perished in fire.
The LC3 chairperson of Rugashali town council, Mwasigwa Peter Mutebire has called for increased manpower and welfare of police officers.
He has advised police officers still living in grass thatched houses to rent out for security purposes.
