A woman in Kibaale district wanted for allegedly hacking her husband to death has been arrested in Kyegegwa district
She is being detained at Kibaale central police station in Kibaale district.
The suspect is Yusta Kasapuli,27, a resident of Kyogera village in Kitutu parish in Karama sub-county.
She has been wanted for hacking to death her husband, Paul Kingi 27, a resident of the same village on Tuesday.
It is alleged that the couple picked up a quarrel around 11 pm on Tuesday night for an unknown reason.
Kasapuli allegedly picked up a machete and hacked Kingi severally on the head and neck killing him instantly and fled the scene.
The Kibaale district police commander, Esther Adeke Tumusiime told our reporter on Wednesday evening that Kasapuli was found trying to commit suicide by poisoning in Hapuyo,Kyegegwa district.
“We had to take her to hospital before detaining her at Kibaale central police station. She was rescued, taken to hospital, resuscitated and arrested her, “said Tumussime
Tumusiime said after investigations, the suspected will be taken to court to answer murder charges.
Sanyu Mugenyi, the brother and Resty Nasoro, the mother to the deceased have told our reporter that Kingi Paul that the quarrel sparked off after Kasapuli denied Kingi conjugal rights.
Carolyn Nabukera, the second wife to the deceased revealed that her co-wife has been a problem in their family. She accuses her of killing domestic birds.
The lc3 chairperson for Karama sub county ,George Muhokota has condemned the act ,urging married couples to always seek help from leaders to address their concerns instead of killing each other.
