14 people from Lira stranded in Kagadi, want Kagadi district COVID-19 taskforce to help them

14 casual laborers from Lira district are stranded in Kagadi district after engineer Omara Tony who brought them this side left them since the outbreak of COVID 19 in the country.

Speaking to our reporter last evening at Kagadi central police station headquarters, Kamar Steven who is the district police commander said the 14 were workers of engineer Omara Tony who were constructing his house in Mpeefu Sub County.

Kamar said 14 have nothing to eat.

Ruteraho Lillian who is the resident district commissioner for Kagadi also the chairperson for Kagadi district COVID-19 taskforce said they have sent their samples to Uganda Virus research Institute to know their health.

Ruteraho said they are currently sheltering them at the district headquarters in the council hall as they wait for their results from Uganda virus research institute in order to allow them to move.

Ruteraho said they are in touch with the DPC of Lira district to transport them back to Lira district, saying engineer Omara Tony is already detained in Lira for mistreating his workers.
