Kibaale district LC5 chairperson, Peter Amara says he will write to the district speaker Disan Tumusiime and councilors to convene a meeting to hear a petition of intention to pass a resolution of the speaker’s censure.
At the beginning of this week, Kibaale councilors petitioned the office of the LC5 Chairman with a notice of their intention to censure the District Speaker Disan Tumusiime accusing him of abuse of office, incompetence and unlawful suspension of one of the councilors, John Providence Bizimungu, who represents Kasimbi Sub County for two consecutive council and committee sittings.
Amara however, says that though he received the councilors’ petition they have not followed the right procedure stressing that they would have used the office of Clerk to council to sign on their notice in the presence of sergeant at arms before submitting the letter to his office.
Amara further criticizes the district councilors upon condoning in-fights at the district instead of focusing on delivering better services to their communities.
