New Hoima dean gets hero’s welcome

The newly appointed Dean of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese, Ven. Canon. Capt. Eric Twine yesterday received a hero’s welcome from thousands of Christians.

Ven. Canon. Capt. Eric Twine, the former archdeacon of Kagadi archdeaconry was appointed Dean of Bunyoro Kitara diocese in November last year, replacing Rev Martin Rubwoyera Nangera who has retired.

On his first trip to the diocesan headquarters since his appointment, Ven. Canon. Capt. Eric Twine was escorted from Kagadi by a motorcade of Christians, organized by Kagadi residents.

He was received by hundreds of Christians at St. Peters Cathedral Hoima.

The head of Laity St. Peters Cathedral Hoima Annet Grace Namutagawa welcomed and promised to work hand in hand with Ven. Can. Capt. Eric Twine for the betterment of the diocese.

Addressing Christians, Ven. Can. Capt. Eric Twine outlined his priorities including cooperation with all stake holders in the diocese in order to achieve the desired goals.

Meanwhile, the new archdeacon of Kagadi archdeaconry, Venerable Reverend Teo Irumba reported at his new station last evening.

Venerable Reverend Teo Irumba has replaced Ven. Canon. Capt. Eric Twine who was appointed Dean of Bunyoro Kitara diocese.

Venerable Reverend Teo Irumba was escorted from Kigaya archdeaconry in Hoima by Christians.

He was also received by hundreds of Christians at St. Luke’s church of Uganda in Kagadi town.

The head of laity of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese, Canon Desteo Kyeyune requested the new archdeacon to cooperate with Christians to complete the new church.

Meanwhile, Venerable Reverend Teo Irumba said unless cooperation is observed by every Christian, he can’t manage to cause changes alone.
