The ministry of agriculture has today handed over 2 Ploughing machines worth 140m Shillings to Kagadi farmers in order for them to boost their income through commercial farming.
The Ploughing machines were given to Mpoza Karungi from Buyaga east and Tombora Matayo from Buyaga west who were selected by the Kagadi district production department for having all the requirements that were needed.
While handing over the Ploughing machines at the district headquarters on behalf of the ministry of agriculture, Ruteraho Lillian who is resident district commissioner Kagadi asked beneficiaries to use them with the community to serve the intended purpose.
On the same function, the district chairperson Byaruhanga Steven Nfashingabo said as NRM government they are fulfilling their manifesto of supporting Ugandans in fighting poverty through commercial farming.
The district Agriculture engineer, Mathias Kamara said Mpoza Karungi from Buyaga east and Tombora Matayo from Buyaga west were selected after having all requirements from others to take these Ploughing machines.
He said if they misuse these Ploughing machines the district will be taken from them and given to others.
Speaking to our reporter shortly after receiving these Ploughing machines, Mpoza Karungi from Buyaga east and Tombora Matayo from Buyaga west promised to maintain them for the good use together with the community for commercial farming.
The tractors handed to Mpoza Karungi from Buyaga east and Tombora Matayo from Buyaga west are registration number UBE 716/Q and UEB 698/Q Respectively.
