Bunyoro Affairs Minister Coming to Kibaale to Decide on Fate of Tobacco Farmers

The District LC5 Chairperson Kibaale Peter Amara has announced that the Bunyoro Affairs Minister, Ernest Kiiza will soon come to Kibaale to chat a way forward on how Tobacco farmers who are demanding money from Tobacco Companies can be compensated as per President Museveni’s directive.

Currently there is a suspension on public meetings, though Kibaale has over 400 tobacco farmers who are demanding over sh600 million from NIMA TIBAC and Continental tobacco companies.

Peter Amara, in an interview with KKCR reporters, says that when Minister Kiiza comes to Kibaale they will forge a way on how the farmers will be verified for the earmarked compensation.

Sedrack Isingoma, the district Senior Commercial Officer says that payments will be done in shifts in accordance with their respective Sub Counties after verification basing on their Tobacco selling receipts.
