Police Spokesperson CP Fred Enanga has revealed that the Director of Operations Services AIGP Asuman Mugenyi quit the institution upon completion of his contract.
Enanga further trashed allegations of Mugenyi, who has served police for over 32 years being fired from the Institution
“He simply observed his contract to the end,” he said.
Mugenyi whose last day in police uniform was Friday May 29 has served in the institution for 32 years.
He has since handed over to his deputy SCP John Nuwagiira.
Mugenyi joins other four AIGPs who quit police in the last three years.
AIGP Stevn Kansiima who was the director traffic and road safety left after his contract expired, AIGP Godfrey Bangirana who was director logistics and engineering was forced out of office by high court when he defied Ochola’s directive to leave office following the epiry of his contract.
For AIGPs Fred Yiga and Elizabeth Muwanga who were director Interpol and director welfare and production who retired in 2018 and 2017 respectively, they quit after waiting for close to two years for their contracts to be renewed.
