Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, unveiled an 11-member team he said will manage the People Power Movement electoral commission ahead of the 2021 general election.

Bobi Wine told the team at the People Power Movement headquarters in Kampala that what they have offered themselves to is not an easy task.

“Comrades as we welcome you, I wanted first and foremost let you know that we’re in a charged mood. I want to thank the comrades that have offered themselves for this task. It is not an easy task at all. I have said this before and I repeat it again that we are leaders to serve and not to boast around. People Power is literally the power of the people. We have said it before, we retaliate it that the problem of Uganda is bad governance. It is leadership. Therefore, we’re here to solve this problem by offering servant leadership,” he said.

“We believe that the opportunity we have in 2021 is to change the leadership of our country; to liberate our country using peaceful means. And we say it that we have not lost our track, we have not lost our way. We have not been diverted and were not going to be diverted,” He added.

The team which is being led by Ms Mercy Walukamba includes; Mr Lubega Mukaaku as vice chairman, Mr Jeremiah Keeya Mwanje (secretary), Mr John Mary Ssebuufu, Mr Brace Asiimwe and Mr Gerald Oyek.

Others include; Mr Halice Akampurira, Ms Margaret Rujumba, Mr Peter Maiso, Mr Alex Rwanyaga and Mr Musa Misango.

Bobi Wine said: “This team will be charged with organizing and overseeing all election processes in our pressure group and they will also be expected to bring as many people to the group as possible to get ready for the election.”

Meanwhile, during the same event, Bobi Wine also unveiled the organizing and coordination committee which will help re-enforce the big team that was unveiled in 2018.

The team unveiled will be led by Mr Sulaiman Kidandala, Mr Keneddy Oluma, Ms Julian Kabagambe, Ms Faridah Nabatanzi and Mr Jimmy Oluka.
