Security has been tightened at the Iganga Magistrate Court ahead of presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi’s appearance.
Kyagulanyi was arrested while presiding over his political rally in Luuka district on Wednesday. He was later detained at Nalufenya detention facility.
Several UPDF officers and Police Field Force Unit-FFU personnel were seen on Friday patrolling all roads leading to court premises.
Counter-terrorism police personnel have been deployed at the court premises and restricted entrance to only those cleared by the Busoga East Police Commander, Anatoli Katungwensi.
Kyagulanyi’s lawyers led by Anthony Wameri have pitched camp at Iganga court waiting for the court session.
Wameri however, told journalists that, his client has spent more than 48 hours in police cells and they expect him to appear before court today.
