Kagadi
Kagadi police have finally identified the body of a man lynched on suspicion of stealing a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle registration number UFM 402 K from Mbarara district.
Rowdy Boda border riders used sharp objects on Tuesday morning to kill the suspect before torching his body at Kisankwa village Kinyarugonjo sub-county Kagadi district.
Moses Muzima Kiconco, the Kagadi District Police Commander, says that police rushed to the scene only to find the lifeless body surrounded by stones and sticks.
He says on Tuesday police didn’t find any identification documents on the deceased’s body, which had complicated their investigations. This forced police to put announcements on local and national media houses for relatives to claim the body.
Speaking to KKCR on Thursday morning, Muzima said, after several announcements, a relative has identified the deceased as a 31 year old Baragarukayo Wilson, a resident of Kazo district.
According to Muzima, the relatives to the deceased have clarified that Baragarukayo Wilson stole the motorcycle from Kazo district but has been operating a saloon business in Mbarara city.
Police has handed the body to the relatives to prepare for a decent burial in Kazo district.
Muzima says they are waiting for the claimants of the motorcycle from Kazo district.
