Kagadi District lays budget for the FY 2023/2024

Kagadi District Local Government has laid its budget for the Financial Year 2023/ 2024 in accordance to Article 190, of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, Section 77(i) of the Local Government Act and Section 13 of the Public Finance Management Act which requires the Chairperson of a Local Council to cause the preparation of a proposed annual Budget.

The District secretary for Finance, planning, administration and investment Hon Betonda Rameul acting on the powers of the District Chairperson presented the budget Proposals for the Estimates of Revenue and expenditure for the financial year 2023/2024

According to Betonda, Estimates of Revenue and expenditure for the financial year 2023/2024 stand at Forty one billion five hundred sixty four million Eight hundred fifty three thousands shillings (41,564,853,000),

He also presented annual work plan and other mandatory documents for FY 2023/2024 during a council meeting held on Thursday at the community Hall in Kagadi town council Kagadi District.

The other mandatory documents include Revenue enhancement plan, Recruitment plan, capacity building plan, procurement plan and operation and maintenance plan

The motion was seconded by the Male councilor Mpeefu sub county Hon Mbusa Andrew and Male councilor Mairirwe Sub county mucunguzi Justus who requested council to approve the draft budget and other mandatory documents.

Magezi Muwonge the District speaker urged Hon councilors to scrutinize, review and make consultations on the Budget and work plan with different stakeholders for approval in the next council session

The Chief Administrative Officer Epodoi Pauline Opoi is optimistic that issues effecting the district including low wage for recruitment, local revenue collection among others can be solved if stakeholders join hands.
