Kagadi’s Resident District Commissioner, Lillian Ruteraho, has directed local council chairpersons to submit the names of parents whose children are not enrolled in school for academic pursuits.
Ruteraho issued this directive yesterday (Monday) during the inauguration ceremony of a newly constructed four-classroom block at Ruboona Primary School in Ruteete Sub County.
She emphasized the necessity for local leaders to identify families neglecting their children’s education, urging prompt action from her office upon receipt of such information.
Expressing concern over the underperformance of government schools, Ruteraho emphasized the need for urgent intervention to address this issue.
She highlighted the unacceptable scenario where some schools fail to produce even a single pupil with a first-grade score in Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
Furthermore, Clare Alice Aganyira, the Inspector of Schools for Kagadi, echoed Ruteraho’s sentiments and appealed to parents to ensure their children complete their education cycle by keeping them enrolled in schools until graduation.
